Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

This is my last week at Google and tomorrow we have a little get together to celebrate the end of Q1. Since this is the last time I'll get to bake anything for the Googlers I decided to make the banana bread they seem to love so much. The best part about banana bread is that it is so simple to make and always a hit, so I encourage you to make some yourself :)

Preheat your oven to 350 and get bakin!

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • All the chocolate and walnuts you can handle!
  • Mash up the bananas
  • Cream the butter and sugar
  • Add the eggs and banana to the butter and sugar
  • Blend the dry ingredients into the above
  • Pour into a greased loaf pan and cook for 1 hour

Rocky Road Cookies

I'm about half way through the Fast and for some reason I decided to bake cookies today, while the sun was out, and torture myself :) I wanted to see what I could do with marshmallows so I made some Rocky Road cookies. I just threw some Rocky Road ingredients together with a basic sugar cookie recipe, and with
approximately 3 hours left before the sun sets I am definitely looking forward to some taste testing!

Preheat oven to 375, and get started...

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened (I used 1 stick of butter and 1 stick of margarine. The margarine makes them come out softer.)
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tbs baker's cocoa
  • Chopped walnuts
  • As many marshmallows as you want! (I recommend chopping them up a little before placing them in the dough)
Bake for 6 minutes and you're done!
